Welcome, humans.

Here’s what’s going on in the world of AI today:
- Bing AI gets exposed 📛
- An AI music video garnered over 12 million views 👀
- People are pissed at McDonald's AI voicebots 🤖

Diagnostic complete. CVS has been on this wave for years ... and its AI cashiers still suck.
Bing Joins The Embarrassed Club 🙈
Instead of running circles around Google, Microsoft is now running in circles with Google.
Microsoft's Bing event, which initially flew under the radar following Bard's mishap, is now being exposed for the many factual errors included in its presentation. A report from AI researcher Dmitri Brereton revealed that Bing:
- Completely made up information relating to best-selling vacuums.
- Misreported numbers from Gap's Q3 financial report.
- Included inaccurate information about Mexico's nightlife.
...and that's on top of the unhinged attitude it's giving early users.
Rough start. The race to ship fast is clearly costing Bing and Bard some reputation. Alphabet Chairman John Hennessy admitted as much, saying Bard was more of a demo than an actual product, mostly due to accuracy.
Zoom out: Despite their hiccups, Bing and Bard still represent impressive advancements in information discovery. So impressive, in fact, that Bing has managed to amass an impressive waiting list of one million people in a mere 48-hour period.
AI Music Video Gets 12 Million Hits 🎥
A new era of animated videos has begun: Linkin Park, the legendary American rock band, is making headlines with their latest music video, "Lost," a masterpiece produced entirely by artificial intelligence.
The band's innovative drop uses Kaiber, an AI graphics startup that lets users transform song lyrics and prompts into fascinating generative music videos.
- Amazingly, "Lost" was initially recorded during Linkin Park's breakout album in 2003.
- Now, near its 20th anniversary, the song's legacy is living on, with over 12 million fans tuning into the AI-powered music video.
Bottom line: AI tools are transcending what ordinary people with an internet connection can produce artistically.
