Marc Andreessen: Why AI Will Save the World ☮️
Google AI right now, and here’s what you’ll find: “existential risk,” “taking jobs,” and “misinformation.”
Mark Andreessen, however, begs to differ.
The co-founder of the Internet and mind behind “Why Software is Eating the World” from 2011 (he was right) is back with another forecast: AI will make the world way better, not worse.
AI is not out to replace human intelligence but augment it. According to Andreessen, this could provide:
- every child an infinitely helpful tutor.
- every person an infinitely helpful mentor/trainer/therapist.
- every leader an infinitely knowledgeable decision-making assistant.
In true Mythbusters spirit, the Silicon Valley icon proceeded to debunk five popular pervasive AI myths, of which the most relevant is: AI won’t take our jobs; it’ll create new ones.
His logic is: more productivity → lower prices → higher wages → economic growth → new jobs/industries.
What we should be concerned about: China. And regulatory capture. And regulatory capture helping China win.
His recommendation? Let American AI firms “be allowed to build AI as fast and as aggressively as they can.” That is certainly our strategy at The Neuron!

Why you can’t afford to be skeptical of this investment opportunity (730,000+ people aren’t)
Picture this: an investment platform delivering tens of millions of dollars a year to investors, while realizing net returns of 17.8%, 21.5% and 35%, and giving everyday people access to a market that was previously only available to billionaires. Too good to be true, right?
Wrong.
All of the above, and more, has been made possible by Masterworks, an award-winning platform for blue-chip art investing (think Banksy, Basquiat, and Picasso.) To date, Masterworks has sold over $45 million dollars worth of artwork and distributed the net proceeds to investors.
All of Masterworks’ offerings are qualified with the SEC, making it simple for investors with no experience in art to benefit from this $1.7 trillion asset class – at a fraction of the cost.

50% of McKinsey’s Workforce Is Using AI 🧑💻
You read that correctly.
McKinsey, the consulting wonderland no one can seem to get an internship at, is All In on AI!
Currently, about half of its 30,000 employees are using generative AI at work. And so is its extensive client base.
Businesses that have deployed generative AI are reaping huge gains in two primary categories:
- Coding: software developer clients are 35-55% more productive.
- Content creation: marketing firms are streamlining the content process in a big way.
How can your business replicate these outcomes? Being the “professional advice giver” that it is, McKinsey suggests that businesses looking to implement AI should consider 5 key areas:
- The IT stack and infrastructure.
- The nature of the data involved.
- Type of AI model being considered.
- UI & UX.
- Effective change management.
That’s vague (duh), but it’s a compelling start for companies aiming to adopt AI swiftly and securely.
Around the Horn 🦄
- Apple CEO Tim Cook said that he personally uses ChatGPT and that AI already forms the backbone for many of Apple’s products.
- Sam Altman wants to keep OpenAI private to avoid conflicts with public shareholders.
- Instagram may be tinkering with in-app chatbots that can answer user questions and give advice.
- Zoom started rolling out “Zoom IQ,” its AI feature that can generate and send meeting summaries.
Treats To Try 🍿
- ggml is a developer tool enabling large models to run on laptops like yours and mine.
- Create and manage ChatGPT plugins from any APIs with Blobr’s generator.
- Personal GPT is an AI chatbot that runs offline without an internet connection on iPhones, iPad, and Macs.
- Argil builds AI-powered workflows specific to your data, all in no code.
