OpenAI claps back at Elon Musk.

One thing AI will never replace? Drama and gossip, and we’re definitely not upset about it.

In response to its impending lawsuit from Elon Musk, OpenAI went public with a series of emails sent to-and-from Elon Musk that debunk many of his accusations against OpenAI.

Ironically, these emails might be the only valuable thing OpenAI has ever open-sourced.

Key points include:

Elon actually agreed OpenAI needed more $$ to compete with Google, but dipped when OpenAI refused to give him majority ownership, board control, and the CEO position.
Elon also agreed it was okay to keep AI private as it became more powerful.

Boom, roasted like a SpaceX rocketship.

While the discourse about powerful AI systems is essential, we view this saga as largely fueled by personal vendettas and trivial squabbles.

Elon even jestingly proposed that OpenAI rebrand to "ClosedAI" if they want to see the lawsuit dropped!
