Welcome, humans.

Microsoft’s AI Assistant For Work Is Coming.

Satya Nadella LIVE!

Microsoft’s AI assistant for everything is coming soon, and we spoke with Microsoft vets Yusuf Mehdi and Colette Stallbaumer about what it all means for its 345M paying users.

(that’s right, 345,000,000 — more than the entire population of the US).

The game-changer is that Microsoft 365 Chat can interact with all your work apps.

Here’s a peak at what this could actually look like:

  1. Summarize unread emails from [Pete].
  2. Draft a reply to [Pete] saying “thanks, received pres info for AMA.” and make it sound like me.
  3. Open draft in Outlook and change tone to informal. Send.
  4. Create a task in [Microsoft Loop] for presentation.
  5. Draft an event plan in Word based on [Pete’s email for our AMA].
  6. Turn [Word doc] into a [PowerPoint] using our company template.
  7. Change the header image to something with more pizzazz.
  8. Draft email to [Pete], attach [Powerpoint], and schedule team meeting tomorrow at 11am.

In essence, a super-smart assistant that's deeply integrated into your work ecosystem, predicting your needs with suggested prompts and actions.

Mind-blowing … and it actually exists (unlike some products stuck in demo video phase, ahem ahem Duet AI). We even had Microsoft employees demo it for us live.

Copilot will hit enterprises on November 1st for $30/user/month. In the meantime, businesses that use Microsoft must get their teams up to speed on what this means and how to use it.

Here is every other AI update from Microsoft’s event yesterday, including Bing adding DALL·E 3. and AI-powered shopping!

FROM OUR PARTNERS

Invest In A Fast-Growing AI Startup.

Two months ago, we gave you a sneak peek at Jurny, an AI startup revolutionizing hospitality with some of the slickest dashboards we’ve ever seen.

They help property managers from Airbnb and Booking.com automate everything from internal messaging to reservations, a $1 trillion inefficiency.

After 5x customer growth and raising $2.3 million, Jurny is giving The Neuron readers one last chance to invest.

You can learn more about their vision by checking out this in-depth Q&A with Jurny’s CEO.

And if you’re bullish, invest as little as $250 in Jurny on Wefunder. The round’s 70% full and closing soon!

YouTube Is Launching AI Tools To Supercharge YouTubers.

YouTube is launching new AI tools to make creating videos easier. Some are fire, some are dire, and some are neither.

Today, we're diving into a quick Rating Game, assigning a score from 1-10 for each new tool!

  • AI insights for Creators: this tool generates content ideas based on trending data (5).
  • Aloud: an AI dubbing tool that can translate your video’s language in one click (9).
  • Creator Music tool: enter a video description, and this tool suggests appropriate songs or tracks to use (7).
  • Dream Screen: create videos and backgrounds from text prompts (TBD).

Why it matters: AI tools are coming to every creator platform, and those who adapt and harness these features first will have a big competitive edge.

Around the Horn.

  • GitHub’s CEO: demand for software engineers will still outweigh supply, despite AI.
  • A 4-part framework for getting your team started with AI.
  • AI apps struggle with retention/user engagement (plus Sequoia weighs in on the current state of generative AI).
  • Google’s search guidelines changes might be boosting AI content more than expected.
  • ChatGPT doesn’t really turn non-coders into great coders, according to a study.
