Welcome, humans.
Another awesome (and terrifying) new robot dropâa Chinese startup called EngineAI just released a video of the first humanoid robot to actually walk like a human:
â
Since all other robots weâve seen seem to waddle (or parkour) around, theyâve clearly done some really impressive training.
When you pair this dude with Torso from yesterday, youâve basically got yourself a full humanoid robot right there.
Remember that one Pet Shop Boys song from the 80s? âYouâve got the brawnâŠIâve got the brains⊠letâs make lots of money.â
Well this version is âIâve got the arms⊠Youâve got the legs⊠letâs take over the human race!â
Now, walking robots are cool, but you know whatâs even cooler? A rolling one:
Rotunbot (RT-G) an Autonomous Spherical Robot by Logon Technology
Hereâs what you need to know about AI today:
- Claude can now write code in your browser.
- Meta launched phone-sized Llama 3.2 models.
- UK probed Google-Anthropic investment.
- White House pushed for faster military AI adoption.
Claude just got a huge upgrade, Part 2âit can now run its own code.
Itâs Shiptober, yâall.
Anthropic must have heard us predict they wonât release a new Opus model before the U.S. Presidential election last week, because the drops this week wonât stop coming.
That, or the companyâs really trying to show off to help raise that moolah.
Todayâs new drop is the âAnalysis toolâ, a new feature that basically turns Claude into your personal data analyst. Itâs basically Claudeâs version of GPTâs Code Interpreter.
Hereâs how it works: before, Claude wrote code, and could even display some of it (but, like, simple stuff). Now, Claude can execute JavaScript code directly in the chat window. This lets you:
- Process data, create visualizations, or handle complex math (no good demos of math so hereâs a chart of Claudeâs emotions today).
- Analyze sales performance or create a sales funnel.
- Create dashboards, like a chart of your daily spending, from raw data.
If youâre like us when we first heard about this, and are still confused about how this is different than Artifacts, hereâs a Perplexity answer for ya.
Fair warningâthe entire data set is in the context window, which limits how much you can do with this, but thatâll change soon. Also, there are workarounds.
The best part? Analysis is available to all Claude.ai users right nowâjust toggle it on in the Feature Preview, like below:
Why itâs important: This change means Claude can now test its solutions and verify they work, hopefully leading to more accurate and reliable answers.
This is pretty important, as Claude can now use your computer to do things like look up sports stats, play Minecraft with you (but maybe read this first), or even solve CaptchasâŠwaitâŠsolve Captchas?! Uh ohâŠ
