Welcome, humans.

GPT-4 makes us 2x more productive than GPT-3.5. That’s why …

We’re gifting one Neuron reader GPT-4!

Here’s how it works:

  • Refer 1 person = 1 entry
  • Refer 10 people = 10 entries
  • Refer 100 people = you’ll probably win!

Ends next Tuesday (6/6). Don’t let someone else win instead of you! 👇

Here’s what’s going on in the world of AI today:

  • Nvidia ships AI video games and a new supercomputer!
  • 85% of Americans have used AI to perform work tasks.
  • NYC companies must inform applicants of using AI in hiring.
  • Jobs most replaceable by AI are disproportionately held by women.

Nvidia Demos AI-Generated Video Games 🎮

The beauty of generative AI lies in its ability to craft entirely new creations - art, poetry, or now, video game characters.

Nvidia launched its generative AI service “Nvidia ACE” for game developers at ComputeX this weekend, with the idea to bring video characters to life.

Well, kinda. We’re talking about non-playable characters (NPCs), which are like computer bots. Think Wii Sports boxers with their weird jabs.

Nvidia wants to make NPCs more human-like. In its demo, Nvidia created:

  • A character that responds to verbal cues, powered by their text-to-speech software Riva.
  • Incredibly realistic lighting and shadows, made by their image model RTX Direct Illumination.

Here’s our take: The demo didn’t seem too novel (it also got underwhelming reviews), but the idea of creating new fresh video game experiences via generative AI is pretty cool.

P.S. Nvidia also announced an AI supercomputer called DGX GH200. The beast mashes together 256 of Nvidia’s new superchips to function as a single mega-powerful GPU.

Google, Meta, and Microsoft will be experimenting with DGX. It’s time to add Nvidia to FAAMG!!

Americans Are Already Using AI At Work 🏢

AI isn’t coming, it’s already here.

Out of 3,000 employed Americans, 85% have already used AI to perform tasks at work, while another 6% are not restricted from using AI at all.

We’re not sure exactly how often they are using AI, but most respondents admitted that they feel pressured to ramp up productivity from “higher-ups.”

They also have mixed feelings about the robots:

On one hand, they obviously love that AI makes work easier by analyzing data, drafting content, drawing insights, etc.

But workers are worried that this boost in productivity could backfire:

  • 78% of people see AI as a threat to compensation.
  • 74% think a robot could replace them at some point.

Why it matters: Automation is coming, but so are new opportunities. The best way to stay ahead is to learn how to leverage AI in innovative ways.

We’re introducing something this summer to help you do just that. Stay tuned! 👀

Tuesday Ticker ⏰

Here are the results from last week’s poll:

Phewwwwww! Back to worrying about nukes.

85% of Americans might have used AI at work, but we wonder what % are actually using AI on a day-to-day basis.

What % of tasks are you completing using AI? 🤖
