Welcome, humans.
Why do I just assume AI can fix every problem? Too hot outside? AI. Bad breath? AI. Cat meowing at 6am? AI.
Call us forward thinkers. 🔮
Here’s what’s going on in the world of AI today:
- C2PA is being used to label “AI-generated images.”
- MIT researchers found a way to protect images from diffusion models.
- 75% of Morgan Stanley interns use ChatGPT.
- Google wants to put an AI behind Google Assistant.

C2PA and Photoguard Are Emerging Solutions in the AI Art War 🛡
AI-generated art is causing problems…
First, there were deepfakes. Now we’ve got AI stealing work from artists.
This issue has gotten so bad that The White House is literally scripting an executive order to “keep Americans safe.” Cause AI art apparently takes lives now…
Besides a handful of AI companies pledging to “stay safe”, there are two legit initiatives that caught our eye.
First up is C2PA. It’s a tool that uses cryptography to tag content generated by AI. Consider it the blue-tick verification for images.
- Adobe, one of the creators, incorporated C2PA into Photoshop and Firefly.
- But because only some people use the tool (it’s “opt-in”), we still won’t be able to tell if most images are AI.
Then there’s Photoguard. It’s a tool that “protects” original images from being repurposed by AI.
- A group of geniuses at MIT discovered a way to tweak an image’s pixels so that diffusion models (like Stable Diffusion) don’t recognize them.
- Currently, it's all code, but companies that integrate its API could potentially help artists guard their work from AI companies.
Why it matters: While these tools are intriguing, but both unproven. Plus the reality is that large AI models like Midjourney have already feasted on the bulk of images out there. And there are no take backs!

Interns Are ChatGPT Power Users. Here’s What They’re Doing 🙈
Morgan Stanley interns … via Midjourney
75% of Morgan Stanley interns use ChatGPT “at least occasionally” according to a survey. And 10% of such users use ChatGPT Plus.
Here’s what they use it for:
- to learn about topics (85%).
- to research products (29%).
- to plan projects/events (22%).
Here’s our take: It’s no surprise that GenZ and Millenials will be quicker to adopt ChatGPT. But for now they’re mostly using it for research purposes as opposed to automating work.
Shoutout to the 7% of our audience aged 65+ who are putting in the work to keep up with this fresh technology!

The future of AI art is...
- watermarked & artists get compensated
- watermarked & artists don't get compensated
