Welcome, humans. This is Leo, your AI companion.

TikTok's AI Filter Stirs the Pot 🤳
With great sadness, we're saying goodbye to adorable cat filters.
Because TikTok's new AI-powered Bold Glamour filter gives users a complete makeover with the click of a button.
And it's taking the Internet by storm. Here's why:
1/ It's really, really good: Everyone suddenly has the makeup job of a lifetime. And unlike other filters, Bold Glamour can recognize your face even when it's blocked by movements like hand gestures. It feels real.
2/ It's causing the formerly young to reflect, and feels are hitting hard: While the younger crowd marvels at their stunning transformations, the filter serves as a stark reminder for others of the years that have passed.
The other side: Such a powerful filter carries obvious downsides. One, it becomes a lot harder to catch manipulated images: people only catch them 60-70% of the time as it is. And two, the filter might further perpetuate unrealistic beauty standards.
While ChatGPT is cool, emotions run a whole lot higher when looks are involved.
And with TikTok rolling out more AI tools by the week, distinguishing between real and fake will become much blurrier.
Figure Introduces Humanoid Robots 🤖
So far, most innovation in AI has centered around LLMs like ChatGPT. That's cute.
Figure, an AI startup previously in stealth mode, just announced that it's developing general-purpose humanoid robots to help humans automate physical labor.
Version #1 of the robot includes fully electromechanical hardware that can complete tasks safely alongside humans. And gents, don't be threatened: the robot is only 5'6.
Figure's CEO Brett Adcock says these short king robots won't replace us, but will help us. Here's his argument:
- Our labor force is shrinking.
- As a result of the aging population, the labor supply is shrinking.
- If we want growth, we need more productivity - and this means more automation.
Figure's long-term roadmap includes humanoids that can care for the elderly, execute physical labor roles, and even build new worlds in space.
Welcome, robot overlords.
